Careers
Build the software that keeps clusters observable.
Outcold Solutions is a small, independent software company based in Florida. We build Collectord and the Splunk apps that our customers run in production on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker. We hire rarely, we hire carefully, and everyone here works on the whole product.

- Downloads from SplunkBase
- 40,000
- Installations of our applications
- 2,000
- Pulls of our container images
- 30 million
What we build
One agent, a family of Splunk apps, and the platform that licenses and supports them. Everything is written, tested, documented, and supported by the same small team.
- Collectord
- A single Go binary that runs on every node of a cluster, on Linux and Windows. It tails container logs, reads cgroups and /proc, watches the Kubernetes API, and forwards everything to Splunk, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch with backpressure, retries, and at-least-once delivery.
- Splunk apps
- Dashboards, alerts, search commands, and React setup pages for Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Linux, and Windows containers. Certified on Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud.
- The platform behind it
- Licensing, metered billing, telemetry, and the support portal - Go services on AWS Lambda with CloudFormation, SQLite, Athena, and Stripe.
- Everything customers read and watch
- The documentation, the blog, release notes, screencasts, and conference demos. The same engineers who write the code write the words.

How we work
We are a small company by choice. That shapes the work more than any tool or process does.
- One team, the whole product
- There are no hand-offs. You design the feature, write the code and the tests, document it, record the screencast, publish the release, and take the support ticket when it comes back. Ownership is end to end.
- Remote, Florida residents
- We are a Florida company and hire Florida residents. Beyond that, where you set up your desk is your call. Our home base is DeLand, near Orlando, and we meet in person when it is useful.
- Customers are close
- Support is part of engineering, not a separate department. You will talk to the people who run our software, reproduce their environments, and fix root causes. Occasionally that means being on call.
- Deep systems work
- Container runtimes, cgroups, file rotation semantics, Windows job objects, clock behavior in virtual machines, and the shape of data in a search engine. Much of the work is careful measurement, not framework plumbing.
- We go where our customers are
- Splunk .conf, KubeCon, Red Hat Summit. Expect a few trips a year to demo, talk to users, and learn what to build next.
- Tested like production
- Unit tests run in containers. Integration suites bring up real Kubernetes clusters, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch. If a change is not proven, it is not done.
